ArchFoundry documentation
Overview
ArchFoundry turns a description of the system you want to run into a priced AWS architecture, and deploys it into your own AWS account once you approve the plan. These guides take you through it one task at a time. New here? Start with Get started with ArchFoundry.
Get started
- Get started with ArchFoundry. Create an account and work through the five Get started steps.
- Set up your account and profile. Confirm your details, tell Archie how you work, and connect GitHub.
- Design your first architecture with Archie. Describe a system in plain words and get a priced diagram.
- Build a diagram on the canvas. Add services, use templates, connect cards and export.
Connections
- Connect your AWS account. A read-only role, no keys, and deploy only when you grant it.
- Connect a GitHub or GitLab repository. Through the GitHub App, GitLab sign-in or a token.
- Connect Claude. Let Claude, Claude Code or another AI tool ask for infrastructure that a person approves.
Workflows
- Import Terraform from a GitHub repository. Draw the Terraform you already have, straight from a branch.
- Import Terraform state or a plan. Drop a state file and get a priced diagram, without uploading it.
- Draw and manage what already runs in AWS. Draw a connected account and take it under management.
- Design from a repository. Archie reads your code and designs what it needs.
- Review a pull request's infrastructure. See what a pull request needs from the cloud, priced.
- Move from Heroku or Render to AWS. Compare the AWS design with what you pay today.
- Move from Azure to AWS. Redraw an Azure resource group as AWS and follow the move.
- Check your designs before you deploy. Static checks, Terraform validation, reachability and load.
Deploy
- Deploy a diagram to your AWS account. Review the plan and the cost, confirm, and watch it build.
- Approve what a coding agent asks for. Review an agent's request, then deploy or decline it.
- Check health and fix a failed deploy. Ask whether a stack serves, and take Archie's fix.
- Destroy a stack. Remove what ArchFoundry deployed, after seeing what goes.
- Understand your costs. Projections, real bills, and the stacks nobody uses.
Account and billing
- Invite your team. Invite links, roles, and removing people.
- Plans and billing. Free, Pro and Enterprise, Archie's monthly usage, and Stripe.
- Use your own AI key for Archie. Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter, for your whole organization.
- Your data and privacy. What is kept, what stays in your browser, and what goes to the AI provider.
- Sign in and manage your account. Log in, reset a password and change appearance.
